About The Position

The extrusion operator performs all the tasks associated with operating the bulk roll films extruder following the standard operating procedures. This posting is for the Engineered Films Plants Concord facility (BLDG 18) and is subject to shift alignment. All interested individuals are encouraged to apply, with those currently in the Concord Engineered Films Plant receiving first consideration. Activities and duties may vary according to site-specific needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
Possess or acquire within specified timing any licensures necessary to perform the job.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain all processing and material handling equipment within the film extrusion process.
Follow process procedures or instructions from line operators and team leaders.
Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production specifications.
Set up machines requiring a high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.
Load raw materials, determine and manage machine controls and unload finished product.
Perform routine tests and check product for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices, including calibrated measuring tapes.
Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
Surface any malfunctions or abnormalities of equipment.
Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
Adjust set up and process operations accordingly for jobs that may be of short, medium or long duration requiring frequent change in set up and variation in cycle.
Continuously review current processes and search out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste or rework in the process.
