About The Position

Responsible for planning, coordination and execution of Extrusion activities and providing guidance and direction to the Extrusion team. Perform supervisory duties when Shift Production Manager is not available.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Extrusion (food or food related manufacturing preferred) or 2 years lead/supervisory experience
  • ERP transactions
  • Touch screen tablets/PLC
  • Basic math skills
  • Use of pneumatic and small hand tools
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting
  • Lock out tag out (LOTO) system
  • Confined space entry experience
  • Fluency in English

  • Fluency in Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment at all times through the adherence to all PGP’s Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures as well as to all relevant California OSHA regulations in order to achieve ZERO workplace incidents and injuries.
  • Assist with incident investigations to ensure safety and compliance within the production environment.
  • Promote exceptional food safety and product quality standards at all times through the adherence to, and improvement of, GMP and food safety and quality policies and standards, in order to have highest quality product for external customers.
  • Ensure products are manufactured according to specification.
  • Ensure that production throughput rates are met.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are available, safe and ready to use.
  • Minimize change over times, sanitation times and unplanned downtime to increase equipment utilization.
  • Operate all 3 extrusion lines and fill in as needed.
  • Delegate work for employees when needed.
  • Perform sanitation and cleaning of equipment.
  • Maintain and control necessary records of product and material.
  • Complete inventory control documentation clearly and accurately.
  • Fill out set up sheets required for that day’s production run.
  • Promptly notify Shift Production Manager of any difficulties that he/she is not able to solve, and which would impair product quality or machine efficiency.
  • Collect, maintain, audit and report data related to production, quality and safety.
  • Identify areas for improvement and participate in CI projects with Shift Production Manager.
  • Participate in all trainings related to his/her job in order to gain knowledge/skills/abilities needed for exceptional performance.
  • Train Extrusion employees.
