About The Position

We are looking to immediately hire a full-time extruder technician. We have 4 AWS working 4 days, 10 hours. This position is open to work 7:00 pm to 5:30 am, alternate schedules, works 3 days gets 2 days off. The Extruder Technician works alongside a team of extruders and production workers and is responsible for physically operating an extrusion line in a way that ensures all products are produced free from cosmetic and physical defects and are within manufacturing tolerances. The Line Operator is responsible for the quality of the production run and adjusts documents and operating conditions to produce the highest attainable quality of pipe safely and efficiently. Strong desire for personal advancement and the willingness to achieve by learning our manufacturing systems and reporting as scheduled with an upbeat team player mindset. Proven history of good attendance. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.

Requirements

• Experience setting up & operating extrusion machinery
• Set ups, Changeovers, Adjustment
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Ability to Troubleshoot
• Visual & quality Inspections
• Basic Paperwork
• 1-year extrusion or manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read and write English, with an ability to perform simple math, and take measurements.
• Working knowledge of extruders, quality control standards, and product specifications.
• Understanding of paperwork procedures and documentation requirements.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance.
• Ability to spend up to 12 hours a shift on foot around hot machinery(continental).
• The ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and /or bending under objects, pushing, and pulling objects.

Responsibilities

• Physically operating an extrusion line to ensure products are produced free from cosmetic and physical defects and are within manufacturing tolerances.
• Responsible for the quality of the production run and adjusts documents and operating conditions to produce the highest attainable quality of pipe safely and efficiently.
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
