About The Position

The Extraction Technician I supports extraction and production operations, with a focus on preparing and weighing materials and ensuring the quality of input and output. The role requires attention to detail and an understanding of extraction equipment and science. The technician works in a fast-paced, controlled environment, supports the Extraction Technician II, follows SOPs and cGMP and Trulieve maintenance standards, and maintains documentation and traceability. The position is hourly and non-exempt, in the Processing department, and reports to the Extraction Lead and/or Supervisor.

Requirements

Experience with controls and instrumentation.

Able to manage changes in the work schedule.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old, or at least 18 years old in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
Able to work in close proximity to cannabis flower and particulates daily.
Able to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 50 lbs to a height of at least 5 feet, and carry or move that weight at least 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
Able to work seated or standing at workstations for extended periods and maintain balance while climbing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching; able to use hands and fingers frequently or constantly to hold, grasp, turn, pick, and pinch.
Able to handle organic matter daily and wear appropriate PPE, including eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, and fall-protection equipment.
Able to perform visual tasks such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, and inspecting small parts or details, with or without job aids; must have clear vision at 20 feet or more in daytime and dark conditions.
Proven mechanical and problem-solving aptitude.
Able to communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers and leadership.

Nice To Haves

Experience entering data in SAP, Emaint, or state-mandated systems such as Metrc, Biotrack, or MJ Freeway.

Responsibilities

Perform incoming inspections of flower and pre-roll material batches, including checks of moisture, texture, overall quality, and size through sorting.
Ensure bud size meets brand standards, and weigh and package flower, fresh frozen material, and/or trim during and after machine operation.
Perform auxiliary duties such as filling socks, retrieving material, and monitoring ovens, and support the Extraction Technician II in operations.
Perform basic machine setup, inventory documentation, and observation and recording of operating metrics after training.
Conduct and document routine equipment checks and minor adjustments during operations.
Complete paperwork checks and preventive-maintenance documentation, and report equipment issues to leads and Facilities and Maintenance.
Check that the sealing machine operates correctly and that seals meet standards.
Ensure equipment, supplies, and work areas are cleaned, verification paperwork is completed, and required PPE is used according to cGMP and Trulieve maintenance standards.
Maintain detailed records of completed tasks for documentation and traceability, and collaborate with Facilities and Maintenance and leadership to resolve documentation issues and questions.
Monitor equipment for optimal performance according to SOPs, address issues, and escalate anomalies or concerns to Extraction Technician II or III.
Notify leads about quality, machine-operation, and material challenges as they occur, including fixes performed.
Attend to other job duties as assigned by management.
