About The Position

This position provides extra help for event setup and teardown. The duties include setting up and arranging furniture, equipment, and materials according to event layouts, diagrams, or supervisor instructions. Responsibilities also involve ensuring event spaces are clean, safe, and properly maintained, assisting with basic audio-visual and lighting equipment, and safely loading, unloading, moving, and storing equipment and supplies. The role requires refreshing bathroom supplies, emptying waste baskets, and ensuring building doors are locked. Additionally, the position involves responding to last-minute adjustments, assisting with inventory and maintenance, reporting any damage or issues, and providing customer service to event hosts and guests when applicable. Decisions regarding the order of tasks and daily work routines are made independently, with interaction with other departments, the general public, and external parties.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift fifty pounds.
  • Ability to bend, twist, walk, squat and use of ladders.
  • Basic computer skills to obtain and review event set up instructions.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
  • Graduation from high school.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation principles, and equipment and supplies used in cleaning.
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual and lighting equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and adjust to different situations.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoor settings.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and arrange furniture, equipment, and materials according to event layouts, diagrams, or supervisor instructions.
  • Linen and skirt tables according to event layouts.
  • Ensure all event spaces are clean, safe, and properly maintained before and after events.
  • Assist with setting up and testing basic audio-visual and lighting equipment as needed (house microphones, smart boards, TV screens, splitters, etc).
  • Load, unload, move and store equipment and supplies safely.
  • Refreshes bathroom supplies, soap and paper products if low before or during an event.
  • Empties waste baskets, sweeps, washes, vacuums or dusts floors, countertops, TV screens and tables.
  • Ensures that appropriate building doors are locked.
  • Responds quickly to last-minute event setup adjustments or customer requests.
  • Assists with inventory organization and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Reports any damage, missing equipment, or maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Provides courteous and professional customer service to event hosts and guests when applicable and onsite for events.
