About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Extinguisher Technician to inspect, test, service, and maintain fire extinguishers and other fire suppression equipment. The ideal candidate has knowledge of fire safety regulations, strong technical skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with industry standards. The position is located in Macon, Georgia.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of fire safety regulations and codes, such as NFPA standards.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Additional technical training or certifications in fire protection systems.
• Proven experience as a Fire Extinguisher Technician or in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and recharging of fire extinguishers as necessary.
• Conduct hydrostatic testing and refill extinguishers as required.
• Install and replace fire extinguishers and fire suppression equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Keep accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs performed.
• Recommend upgrades or replacements of fire protection equipment as needed.
• Educate customers on fire safety practices and proper use of fire extinguishers.
• Respond promptly and professionally to service calls and emergency situations.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed for servicing fire extinguishers.
