About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an External Financial Reporting Analyst to work on the SEC Reporting team within Enterprise Accounting Policy/SEC Reporting Team in the Finance Controllers organization. Supporting external reporting functions with end-to-end reporting processes, this role provides technical regulatory reporting guidance while meeting strict timelines in pre-production data analysis/updates with Lines of Business (LOB) and production submission of 10-Q and 10-K filings. This position offers the implementation of new accounting standards, exposure to senior management in an enterprise reporting view, and mobility to various LOBs! In this role, you will meet the company’s regulatory, Security and Exchange Commission and other external financial reporting requirements. You will support external financial reporting activities with a thorough understanding of reporting requirements, end-to-end reporting processes, and data needed to deliver accurate and complete financial reporting. You will also support the implementation of moderate to complex projects and initiatives, identify compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area, and collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. Additionally, you will communicate and provide consultation with experienced stakeholders throughout the enterprise.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, Financial Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification and Big 4/Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Experience supporting or preparing SEC filings (e.g.,10-Q and 10-K) in Financial Services
  • Knowledge/understanding of accounting principles: GAAP and statutory
  • Project management skills including the ability to handle multiple due dates concurrently
  • Intermediate Essbase or SmartView skills for General Ledger functions as needed
  • Intermediate MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook, PowerPoint) skills; Workiva-Wdesk or web report filing software
  • Able to quickly grasp business issues, analyze and translate quantitative/qualitative data and recommend/drive resolutions
  • Demonstrated success in complex, matrixed environment with deadline deliverables
  • Able to work effectively, and independently, in team environment
