About The Position

As External Communications & Public Relations Leader, you are responsible for developing and executing Limbach’s external communications strategy to strengthen our brand reputation, support business objectives, and elevate our market visibility. This role serves as a steward of the company’s external voice, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across public-facing channels, including social media, blog/podcast, public relations, thought leadership, and all other digital content platforms. The incumbent partners closely with our Internal Communications Leader, the entire marketing department, business leaders, talent acquisition, and external PR partners to shape Limbach’s market narrative, amplify company achievements, and identify opportunities to enhance brand awareness and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Journalism, or Communications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all relevant social media platforms.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse audiences.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Hubspot, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Suite products.
  • Capacity to successfully manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proven written communication skills, ideally with published content, in online and/or traditional media.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive external communications strategy aligned with the company’s brand, culture, and business objectives.
  • Owns Limbach’s external messaging framework and ensures consistent messaging across all public-facing communication channels.
  • Leads strategy and oversight for all external content channels, including social media, YouTube, blogs (#1901), podcast content (Limbach Unlocked), and other digital platforms.
  • Develops and manages the company’s social media strategy, ensuring content supports business priorities, engages target audiences, and strengthens brand awareness and market positioning.
  • Owns external channel analytics and performance reporting.
  • Establishes content themes, editorial priorities, and messaging calendars that support business initiatives, campaigns, and brand storytelling.
  • Oversees strategy for the company podcast, including topic development, messaging, and outline creation, while partnering with internal resources for scheduling, production, and publishing support.
  • Partners with internal communications to ensure communication strategy and content alignment across corporate departments, internal stakeholders, and subject matter experts, translating technical and business topics into compelling external content.
  • Identifies opportunities to elevate Limbach’s brand visibility, differentiate the company in the marketplace, and strengthen audience engagement through strategic storytelling.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to support employer brand messaging across external recruitment platforms such as Glassdoor and Indeed.
  • Collaborates with marketing and communications team members to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and communication initiatives.
  • Collaborates with vertical market leaders and external PR partners to identify speaking opportunities, conference engagements, and industry events for company leaders and branch locations, while vetting strategic opportunities for brand alignment.
  • Leads submissions for strategic industry awards, rankings, and recognition programs, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to organizations such as ENR, Top Workplace, and Newsweek.
  • Participates in weekly PR planning meetings and strategic discussions.
  • Monitors industry trends, media coverage, and brand sentiment to proactively identify communications opportunities and reputational risks.
  • Tracks external brand health using communications, media monitoring, and analytics tools such as Cision, HubSpot, and related platforms.
  • Partners with the Investor Relations team to support production of the quarterly Behind the Numbers podcast featuring the CEO.
  • Develops and helps manage the annual PR budget.
  • Crafts LinkedIn content and executive messaging for senior leadership to support thought leadership and brand visibility.
