About The Position

United Protective Services is seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Security Officer to provide exterior vehicle patrol coverage at a retail property. This is an active patrol position requiring the officer to operate a company/client patrol vehicle, maintain a visible security presence, and regularly work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Must reside within approximately 20 miles of ZIP Code 77024.
  • Scheduling flexibility is required, including the ability to assist with coverage outside the regular schedule when operationally necessary.
  • Must be comfortable operating a patrol vehicle for extended periods.
  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor.
  • Ability to remain alert, observant, and proactive throughout the shift.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Ability to complete written and electronic security reports accurately.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Drivers License
  • Over the age of 25 (Insurance Requirement)

  • Candidates should be comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and maintaining situational awareness while conducting continuous exterior patrols.
  • Applicants must be comfortable spending a significant portion of their shift driving, entering and exiting the patrol vehicle, and working outdoors in the elements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine vehicle patrols throughout the property, parking lots, and surrounding exterior areas.
  • Maintain a visible and proactive security presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor parking areas, storefronts, exterior access points, and other designated areas.
  • Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, property damage, and maintenance concerns.
  • Professionally interact with tenants, customers, vendors, employees, and Property Management.
  • Respond promptly to security concerns, disturbances, and incidents.
  • Complete accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, and patrol documentation.
  • Safely operate the assigned patrol vehicle and comply with all company and property driving requirements.
