The Extension Educator serves as a full-time, 12-month academic professional with primary responsibility for the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs supporting the mission of the University of Illinois Extension. This role focuses on Local Food Systems within community-based production settings, collaborating with other Extension Educators, building networks among those focused on local food production, and providing research-based information and educational programs for growers, schools, decision-makers, and other stakeholders. The position involves developing and delivering programs in fruit and vegetable production, food marketing initiatives, food safety and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), school and community gardens, and integrated pest management, while also building networks and increasing collaboration with agriculture stakeholders.
