About The Position

The Extended Day and Camp Manager is responsible for the school's year-round extended-day and summer program. This role involves hiring, training, and supervising the After School Assistant Teacher team, maintaining program spaces including the playground, and ensuring a smooth transition between the school-day program and aftercare. The Manager will also manage outside vendors for Upper School enrichments and direct the Summer Camp program with its own staffing, schedule, and safety plan. This is a hands-on position requiring presence during program hours, visibility in program spaces, and serving as the primary contact for families, staff, and vendors during aftercare and camp.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, event coordination, program management, or related field
Three or more years of experience supervising staff in a school-age childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Proven experience collaborating with external vendors and program providers.
Proficiency in standard office software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office) and comfort with learning new digital platforms.
Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs.
Willingness to obtain appropriate licensure to drive the school van if not already held.
Ability to respond calmly and quickly to changing circumstances and emergencies.
Clear communicator, confident in interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, including vendors, staff, and licensing officials.

Responsibilities

Hire, train, schedule, and supervise After School Assistant Teachers.
Set staff-to-child ratios according to licensing requirements and adjust coverage based on enrollment.
Conduct onboarding for new assistant teachers, covering behavior guidance, emergency procedures, and program routines.
Perform regular check-ins and annual performance reviews for direct reports.
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise the Summer Camp teacher team.
Maintain ownership of all community spaces used by After School and Summer Camp programs, including the playground.
Create and maintain a work list for setup, refresh, and repair needs in program spaces.
Regularly inspect program spaces to ensure they are prepared, clean, and safe.
Track material and equipment needs and manage purchase or repair requests.
Coordinate with facilities and maintenance staff on playground upkeep and equipment.
Meet with Lower School and Upper School Program Directors to plan seamless transitions from the school day to After School.
Align After School routines, expectations, and behavior language with the school-day program.
Share relevant student updates between the school day and After School programs.
Plan and adjust the daily transition schedule, dismissal flow, and sign-out process.
Identify, vet, and contract external vendors for Upper School enrichment offerings.
Negotiate vendor agreements, fees, and schedules, and manage renewals.
Confirm vendors have required insurance, background checks, and safety training.
Monitor vendor-led sessions for quality and gather family feedback.
Manage the enrichment sign-up and billing process.
Design the summer camp schedule, weekly themes, and activity calendar.
Manage camp enrollment, family communication, and camp-specific forms and health records.
Set camp staffing, hire and train counselors, and manage camp-week logistics.
Prepare camp spaces, equipment, and supplies.
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification for the program and staff.
Adhere to all licensing, ratio, and safety requirements for after-school and camp programs.
Maintain accurate attendance, sign-in/sign-out, and incident documentation.
Lead emergency drills and procedures specific to After School and Camp hours.
Serve as the Director point of contact with Colorado Licensing for the Before/After Care license.
Act as the primary point of contact for families regarding After School and Summer Camp.
Send regular family communications about schedules, closures, weather plans, and program updates.
Represent After School and Summer Camp at family-facing events.
