About The Position

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair problems with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and similar vehicle systems.
• Test systems and components to verify that they are secure and functioning properly.
• Drive vehicles for testing purposes or use equipment such as compression gauges and diagnostic computers.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy when diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Follow a checklist to examine each critical part of a vehicle.
• Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other potentially troublesome parts.
• Use power tools, including pneumatic wrenches, to remove bolts.
• Use machine tools such as grinding machines and lathes to rebuild brakes.
• Use common hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers to work on small parts.
• Write vehicle damage repair estimates.
