About The Position

Suburban Volvo Cars Troy is seeking a motivated Express Technician to perform routine vehicle maintenance and deliver an exceptional customer experience. The role is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality, and wants to build a long-term career in the automotive industry. The Express Technician reports directly to the Service Manager. Starting pay is $17.00+ per hour based on experience, qualifications, and skill level. The position provides hands-on experience in a professional dealership environment, with opportunities to develop skills and pursue further opportunities within the service department.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Team-oriented mindset with a customer-focused attitude.
Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous automotive experience, technical school training, or a strong interest in automotive repair.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspections, battery testing, and fluid services.
Conduct basic vehicle inspections and communicate findings to the service team.
Maintain accurate repair orders and document work performed.
Follow manufacturer standards, safety procedures, and dealership processes.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional.
Work efficiently while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Support the service department by assisting with additional tasks as needed.
