About The Position

Gresham Toyota, part of Swickard Auto Group, is hiring an entry-level Express Technician for its Toyota express lane in Gresham, Oregon. The technician works in a structured, team-based environment with two technicians per bay, supporting experienced flat-rate technicians and helping maintain efficient vehicle throughput and consistent service quality. The role is intended as a foundation for a technician career, with hands-on mentorship and a progression path into flat-rate production and more advanced technician roles. Work includes oil and filter changes, tire rotations, fluid checks and top-offs, tire pressure adjustments, basic scheduled maintenance, and thorough multi-point inspections. The technician follows Toyota maintenance procedures, dealership processes, and safety standards; documents inspection findings; communicates maintenance needs and safety concerns to service advisors; and maintains a clean, organized, safe work area. The position offers $19–$21 per hour, paid Toyota manufacturer training, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance and supplemental coverage options, paid time off, paid holidays, and employee vehicle purchase and service discounts. Prior express service or automotive maintenance experience is preferred, but applicants with mechanical aptitude, dependability, and interest in developing as a technician are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Basic automotive mechanical knowledge and familiarity with common hand tools.
Dependable and punctual, with reliable attendance.
Detail-oriented, including following proper torque procedures, maintaining accurate fluid levels, and completing inspection documentation.
Team-first attitude and ability to work alongside experienced flat-rate technicians.
Willingness to complete Toyota manufacturer training and follow dealership safety policies.

Nice To Haves

Prior express service or automotive maintenance experience is preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in building a technician career are encouraged.

Responsibilities

Support flat-rate technicians in a two-technician-per-bay express environment to maintain efficient vehicle throughput and consistent service quality.
Perform oil and filter changes, tire rotations, fluid checks and top-offs, tire pressure adjustments, and basic scheduled maintenance services.
Complete multi-point inspections, identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns, and accurately communicate findings to service advisors.
Follow Toyota maintenance procedures, dealership processes, and safety standards on every vehicle.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
Communicate effectively with fellow technicians, service advisors, and shop leadership to keep the express lane moving.
