About The Position

This role is responsible for managing and executing export processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in documentation, shipment tracking, and customer communication. The Export Specialist will work closely with carriers and clients to facilitate smooth international trade operations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding US Exports
  • Country Requirements competence
  • Good transportation background, FCL, LCL, rating, routing, documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Export experience minimum 2+ years
  • High school diploma

Nice To Haves

  • Letter of Credit knowledge and experience
  • 2 or 4 year college degree beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Review export documents for accuracy
  • Prepare and present Letter of Credit Documents
  • Dispatch export loads and cargo pick-ups, confirm cargo delivered to carrier
  • Track export shipments and advise customer of potential schedule changes if applicable for the client
  • Prepare export documents, file AES and Bill of Lading Instructions prior to vessel cut-offs
  • Ensure timely distribution of transport documents and billing of freight
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and provide quotes to customers
  • Problem solve with the Export Manager when situations arise that can or do negatively effect our clients and their customers
  • Communicate with all parties in a transaction in a clear, concise, professional manner
  • Provide outstanding, uncompromising customer service
