About The Position

The Export Specialist will be responsible for reviewing export documents for accuracy, preparing and presenting Letter of Credit Documents, dispatching export loads and cargo pick-ups, and confirming cargo delivery to the carrier. This role involves tracking export shipments, advising customers of potential schedule changes, and preparing export documents, including filing AES and Bill of Lading Instructions prior to vessel cut-offs. The specialist will ensure timely distribution of transport documents and billing of freight, negotiate rates with carriers, and provide quotes to customers. Additionally, the role requires problem-solving with the Export Manager for situations affecting clients and their customers, and maintaining clear, concise, and professional communication with all parties involved in a transaction. A strong emphasis is placed on providing outstanding, uncompromising customer service.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding US Exports
  • Country Requirements competence
  • Good transportation background, FCL, LCL, rating, routing, documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Export experience minimum 2+ years
  • High school diploma

Nice To Haves

  • Letter of Credit knowledge and experience
  • 2 or 4 year college degree beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Review export documents for accuracy
