About The Position

Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. is seeking an Export Sales Representative II to maximize international sales for the Polyolefins division. This role involves generating new business aligned with company strategy, developing customer relationships, negotiating commercial terms, managing sales activities, and achieving revenue and volume targets in assigned international markets. The position requires strategic sales implementation, including developing and executing international sales strategies, monitoring global polyolefin market conditions, and recommending market strategies and pricing. The representative will act as a liaison for initiating and negotiating business practices, developing sales forecasts, and coordinating with various internal teams to ensure smooth order execution. Responsibilities also include sales prospecting in international markets, building and sustaining customer relationships, providing marketing and technical support, managing sales follow-up and customer service, ensuring REACH compliance for UK and European Union countries, managing Mexico Terminal and Bonded Warehouse Inventory/Sales, and managing subsidy reporting for the Export Sales Team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant international sales/business development/market analysis experience in a job related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Business, Marketing, International Trade, Finance, or a related field.
  • Ability to coordinate, facilitate, and mediate solutions to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to read critically and comprehend economic information and publications related to the industry and market.
  • CRM experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably related to polyolefins, polymers, plastics, or petrochemicals.
  • MBA, chemical engineering, and/or polymer science preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize Polyolefins division international sales and generate new business based on company strategy.
  • Develop and execute international sales strategies for growth and business/product development.
  • Monitor and present global polyolefin market conditions, including pricing trends, supply/demand, feedstock costs, competitor activity, and opportunities.
  • Recommend market strategies and pricing to impact customer product and profitability mix.
  • Coordinate as liaison to initiate, negotiate, and facilitate business practices, such as prices, credit terms, and sales contracts; solicit sales orders and finalize/execute contracts.
  • Develop sales forecasts and maintain accurate information regarding pipelines, customer requirements, and expected volumes.
  • Coordinate with Product, Logistics, Supply Chain, Credit, and Technical teams to ensure smooth order execution and delivery.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from inquiry and quotation through order confirmation, shipment, payment, and after-sales service.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, market intelligence/trend reports, forecasts, and business-development plans, sales/pricing/margin analysis for management.
  • Identify and develop new markets, customers, strategic business partners, products, and business opportunities in international markets.
  • Generate sales leads through market research, industry networking, trade shows, referrals, and direct business development.
  • Coordinate with marketing/business development to create, recommend, and implement sales strategic plans and tactics.
  • Develop precontract plan, contact decision maker, and initiate the sales solicitation process.
  • Develop and sustain consistently high-quality customer relationships.
  • Facilitate, collaborate, and coordinate internally to implement and reinforce customer expectations, commitments, and Formosa Brand.
  • Routinely research market intelligence on competitive dynamics and develop pricing, competitive sales, and marketing planning and actions.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their applications and recommend appropriate grades and products.
  • Coordinate with Technical Service for technical support to customers, including mediating and facilitating resolution on product quality complaints and product development.
  • Consistently, and in a timely manner, coordinate, facilitate, and mediate on price adjustments or payment discrepancies, on resolution of customer complaints and customer service issues.
  • Help deplete non-prime inventory based on marketing strategy for each month.
  • Manage REACH compliance by customers to facilitate UK and European Union countries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade regulations, shipping requirements, Incoterms, and documentation.
  • Provide forecast and market intelligence for deployment, monitor inventory, and manage terminal/bonded warehouse inventory/sales timely at optimal value.
  • Manage subsidy reporting for Export Sales Team to sustain profitability.
