About The Position

The Export Manager - Ocean will direct staff in expediting export correspondence, bid requests, and credit collections. This role involves maintaining awareness of customer needs to develop compliance recommendations and decisions, and identifying opportunities for enhanced services. The manager will be responsible for the marketing of export services and the growth of the procurement segment of the business. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Key duties include arranging shipping details such as export licenses, customs declarations, and packing and routing product, as well as expediting import/export arrangements and maintaining current information on import/export tariffs, licenses, and restrictions. The role also requires effectively managing difficult customer situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in International Business Administration, Finance or Economics, is required.
  • 5 or more years of procurement experience.
  • 5 or more years of supervisory or management experience
  • Ability to be a teamplayer and work effectively with senior-level staff.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, be proactive and be able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient at MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and be highly organized.
  • Strong desire to work in a fast paced environment while providing inspiration to a growing team.
