About The Position

As an Explorer at Thanksgiving Point’s Museum of Ancient Life, you help guests of all ages discover prehistoric life and create memorable, hands-on learning experiences. The role includes helping guests explore the museum’s dinosaur exhibits and supporting science and discovery activities. It offers experience in customer service, retail, guest engagement, STEM learning, and educational programming in an active environment. This part-time position is 15 hours per week, with morning shifts from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Some holidays are included. The wage is $11–$12 per hour, and the position is eligible for a $100 signing bonus.

Requirements

Must have morning availability.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Friendly, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and genuine interest in helping guests learn and explore.
Patience and professionalism in a busy, energetic, and sometimes noisy environment.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, climb stairs, bend, stand for extended periods, and manipulate small objects.
Must be at least 16 years old.
Must successfully pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Help guests of all ages discover prehistoric life and participate in hands-on learning experiences.
Engage with guests and help bring science and discovery to life.
Initiate conversations with guests and confidently reinforce safety expectations.
Learn and perform cash handling and register operation.
Learn and use guest engagement techniques.
Work comfortably indoors and around crowds, including performing tasks such as feeding fish.
Collaborate with coworkers and give and receive constructive feedback.
