About The Position

As an expert in the Hospitality & Tourism programme, you bring proven experience with hospitality operations such as accommodation and food and beverage, or with tourism development such as destination planning and digital positioning, and understand how responsible, experience-driven models create value for communities, businesses and travellers alike. PUM is a unique NGO committed to making a positive impact on a global scale. With a network of 1,200 skilled voluntary experts, we collaborate with ambitious entrepreneurs in 26 countries and 12 programmes, sharing expertise to strengthen business ecosystems and create economic, social, and environmental value. We work closely with small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the organisations that support them. Requirements

  • Proven experience in Hospitality and Tourism operations (accommodation, food and beverage) or tourism development (destination planning, digital positioning).
  • Understanding of how responsible, experience-driven models create value for communities, businesses, and travellers.
  • Track record of relevant experience in Hospitality and Tourism, preferably with expertise in hotels, restaurants, catering (kitchen-chef for hotels, restaurants and catering), tourism, recreational services or education.
  • Authentic, resilient, humble, and dynamic professional.
  • Appreciation for cultural differences and interaction with equality and respect.
  • Eagerness to operate as a sparring partner in culturally diverse and changing circumstances.
  • Hands-on approach and ability to translate knowledge into a practical plan.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfortable with digital tools, including Microsoft Office 365.
  • Must be a voluntary position.
  • Must apply up to and including the calendar year in which you turn 69.
  • Must reside in the Netherlands.
  • Must be registered in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP).
  • Must have Dutch basic health insurance.
  • Prescreening (VOG) is part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

  • Drive change within the Hospitality & Tourism programme worldwide.
  • Share knowledge and experience to empower entrepreneurs and support their journey toward sustainable and inclusive business development.
  • Leave a lasting impact on the community: socially, environmentally, and economically.
  • Turn knowledge into a hands-on project plan.
  • Expand horizons at sector days and build a diverse network.
  • Be matched with up to three projects per year, either on location or remotely via Microsoft Teams.
  • Spend two weeks on-site with the client for on-location projects.
  • Engage in knowledge exchange that makes a global impact.
