As an Internal Property Claims Expert - Home, you will be at the heart of what we do best: helping people. You will work within a passionate and diverse team of claims experts who help clients get back on track after a loss. Every unique situation and every property insurance claim will showcase your ability to manage details. You will review individual files, meet with the insured and witnesses, keep clear and well-organized records, and compare contracts to make assessments related to liability and claims settlement.

Requirements

• Hold a 5A and/or 5B claims adjuster certificate.
• Possess at least 6 months of experience as an auto claims adjuster.
• No home insurance experience is required; training in home claims processing will be provided.
• Good knowledge of insurance products.
• Strong time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Have a good understanding of the claims process.
• Maintain a high level of performance and productivity.
• Bilingual (French and English).
• Need to handle claims files for an English-speaking clientele on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Open new claims over the phone with clients, then ensure immediate support for the situation.
• Analyze the information gathered, determine admissibility and investigate the circumstances of a claim to determine the causes and review the damage assessment.
• Collect statements of facts from the insured and/or witnesses by questioning them about the events.
• Use tools effectively.
• Determine subrogation potential in files.
• Maintain good reserve management.
• Effectively manage their office and priorities.
• Verify the details of the insured's policy to determine coverage.
• Collaborate effectively with different teams, including appraisal, underwriting, and subrogation.
• Ensure effective cost management.
