About The Position

Mercedes-Benz of Romeoville is seeking an experienced service technician to perform automotive diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs in a clean, safe, climate-controlled service facility. The position offers a supportive, collaborative team environment at a family-owned Fields Auto Group dealership, with transparent leadership and opportunities for advancement. Technicians use OEM diagnostic equipment and special service tools to complete work efficiently and to manufacturer specifications, including warranty repairs, and communicate vehicle status and repair-time estimates to Service Advisors.

Requirements

At least 5 years of automotive Service Technician experience.
A-Level qualifications, including diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair expertise.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and a clean, acceptable driving record.
Ability to learn and use new vehicle technology, repair procedures, and digital diagnostic tools.
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong focus on shop safety and efficiency.

Nice To Haves

Mercedes-Benz or luxury-brand certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform automotive diagnostics, service, and repairs listed on repair orders efficiently and to manufacturer specifications, including warranty work.
Use OEM electronic diagnostic equipment and special service tools to troubleshoot engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, and climate control systems.
Test-drive vehicles and test critical components to verify that repairs are complete and accurate.
Communicate directly with Service Advisors about vehicle status and estimates for additional repair time.
