Experienced Climbing Arborist | East Bay
About The Position
The Experienced Climbing Arborist trims and removes trees and removes unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs to support tree health and the safety of surrounding areas. Working outdoors as an active crew member alongside ground crew and a crew leader, the arborist performs tree pruning and removal services using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems. The role includes pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing and lightning protection systems, and removing hazardous trees. The arborist also prepares, operates, and maintains tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. The position is permanent and full-time, based onsite in San Ramon, California, with travel expectations of up to 25%. Compensation is $25.00–$35.00, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or working at heights.
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
Responsibilities
