About The Position

The Experienced Climbing Arborist trims and removes trees and limbs to support tree health and protect people and surrounding areas. The role performs tree pruning and removal for clients as an active crew member, working with ground crew and a crew leader. Climbing systems offered include DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS. The position is based outdoors at an on-site work location in Portland, Oregon, with travel expectations of up to 25%.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or working at heights.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout tree canopies.
Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
Remove hazardous trees.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member alongside ground crew and the crew leader.
