Experienced Audit Associate
About The Position
Baker Tilly is hiring an Audit Associate to provide audit and other assurance services to privately held and publicly traded clients at all stages of development. The role involves working face-to-face with clients, contributing as a member of engagement teams, and building client relationships while developing technical accounting and client-service skills. Associates receive on-the-job coaching and mentoring and can participate in firm-wide learning and development programs. Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience.
- A four-year degree and eligibility to obtain a license.
- There is currently no immigration sponsorship available for this position.
Nice To Haves
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or a related business degree, with sufficient coursework and credits to sit for the CPA exam in the state of consideration.
- Outstanding academic performance; a GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Relevant internship, work experience, and/or involvement with a professional organization.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel.
- Time-management, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, and adaptability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Provide assurance and consulting services as a member of engagement teams.
- Engage with clients throughout the year to gather information needed to complete testing and respond to questions.
- Perform substantive testing on clients’ balance sheets and income statements.
- Test internal controls for deficiencies and discuss recommendations for improvement.
- Learn through direct on-the-job coaching and mentoring and participate in firm-wide learning and development programs.
- Network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients.
- Build productive work relationships while gaining experience.
