About The Position

Central Bi-Products, part of Farmers Union Industries, LLC (FUI), is seeking an Expeller for the 2nd shift at its Long Prairie, MN facility. This role involves operating and monitoring grease clarification systems, handling materials, and ensuring regulatory compliance. FUI is a leading agricultural-based manufacturing company with diverse operations. The Long Prairie facility specializes in collecting and transforming multi-species by-products into high-quality feed ingredients and other products.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused on production processes for extended periods of time.
  • Understand and operate basic computer systems.
  • Accurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, and operator manuals.
  • Proficient in reading data trends; accurately and legibly record information.
  • Work in a facility that processes multiple species including cows, pigs, and poultry.
  • Willingness and ability to work extra hours as needed during the week or weekend.
  • Consistently bend at the waist and/or knees.
  • Consistently shovel materials up to 35 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds from floor to waist level.
  • Occasionally climb up to 40-foot ladders or 75-foot stairways.
  • Ability to tolerate varying environmental conditions including wet slippery conditions or extreme hot/cold.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food/feed production.
  • Pass in-house Forklift Certification; experience in backing up trailers or operating a skid steer and forklift, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the grease clarification systems including valves, pumps, and tank levels.
  • Utilize valves and pumps to blend, heat, and/or transfer grease between various storage tanks.
  • Collect, properly label, and store grease samples.
  • Safely operate all material handling equipment associated with unloading Midwest Grease trucks.
  • Monitor and accurately record meter readings and water levels on boilers, steam pressure systems, air, and wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Provide backup support to Panel Operators, as needed.
  • Report any concerns, accidents, downtime, or cost-saving measures to Foreman, as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives.
  • Comply with all regulatory compliance requirements including environmental and food/feed safety.
  • Maintain positive relationships with others and assist other production or maintenance personnel, as necessary.
  • Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment, as needed.
  • Maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance.
