About The Position

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is hiring an Expediting Clerk in West Allis, Wisconsin. The role expedites work relating to residential, commercial, industrial, gas emergency, and regulated projects and functions. It serves as a liaison to work groups in local area offices and dispatches assignments involving crews, storm work, metering, trouble work, maintenance, and emergency and non-emergency building-related problems.

Requirements

May need to satisfy company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, including a background investigation, if the position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets.
Pass the Basic Clerical Aptitude test, assessing classification according to preset rules, spelling and grammar, basic mathematics, and filing and sorting.
Pass the Data Entry/Database test, assessing accurate data entry from printed material into fixed-formatted fields and basic database entry operations.
Be legally authorized to work in the United States; applicants needing current or future work-authorization sponsorship are not eligible.

Responsibilities

Perform clerical functions in support of electric and/or gas construction and the day-to-day operation of a service center.
Set up and maintain files for construction jobs.
Respond to customer and contractor inquiries.
Process construction orders.
Receive and process locate requests.
Clear contingencies, investigate why contingencies have not been met, and take steps to resolve problems.
Verify and maintain records.
Support job owners, designers, gas and electric crews, and operations/customer service supervisors.
Process invoices and purchase orders.
Prepare correspondence and reports and perform other general office duties.
Dispatch work assignments, including crews, storm work, metering, trouble work, maintenance crews, and emergency and non-emergency building-related work.
