About The Position
Corner Dental is seeking a full-time Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support doctors in delivering patient-focused dental care. The role includes chairside clinical support, patient education, documentation, and state-permitted expanded dental functions. The EFDA is expected to help ensure efficient patient care while maintaining compliance with applicable state regulations. The schedule is Monday 8:45 a.m.–6 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday 7:45 a.m.–5 p.m.; and every other Friday 7:45 a.m.–3 p.m. The practice describes its environment as supportive, inclusive, and encouraging of individuality and innovation. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered.
Requirements
- EFDA certification or on-the-job training, as required by state regulations.
- Radiography licensure meeting state requirements.
- CPR certification.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, dental charting software, and digital X-rays, with the ability to learn new systems.
Nice To Haves
- One to five years of experience is preferred; new graduates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside support for doctors, including charting, placing fillings, setting up and cleaning operatories, and educating patients.
- Perform state-permitted expanded functions, such as placing amalgam or composite fillings, adapting temporary crowns, removing sutures, and applying topical fluoride.
- Maintain accurate patient health histories and treatment plan documentation in dental software.
- Assist with clinical procedures to support a seamless and efficient patient-care process.
- Stay current on state regulations and compliance requirements.
