About The Position

Life Smiles Dental in West Lafayette, Indiana, is hiring a full-time Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA). The EFDA provides clinical support to doctors, educates patients, and performs expanded dental duties permitted by state regulations while helping deliver an exceptional patient experience. The practice is partnered with North American Dental Group, which provides non-clinical business support services to independently owned and operated dental practices. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m.–5 p.m., and Friday, 7:45 a.m.–2 p.m. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered. Requirements

EFDA certification or on-the-job training as required by state regulations.
Radiography licensure meeting state requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, dental charting software, and digital x-rays, with the ability to learn new systems.
CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

One to five years of experience is preferred; new graduates will be considered.

Responsibilities

Provide chairside support for doctors, including charting, placing fillings, setting up and cleaning operatories, and educating patients.
Perform state-permitted expanded functions, such as placing amalgam or composite fillings, adapting temporary crowns, removing sutures, and applying topical fluoride.
Maintain accurate patient health histories and treatment-plan documentation in dental software.
Assist with clinical procedures to support a seamless and efficient patient-care process.
Stay current with state regulations and compliance requirements to provide safe and effective care.
