About The Position

Clear Lakes Dental is hiring a full-time Expanded Functions Dental Assistant for its new practices in Eastlake or Painesville, Ohio. The position assists dentists, dental therapists, and hygienists with procedures and helps provide care for patients of all ages in a supportive dental practice. The role is hourly and non-exempt, reports to the Dental Operations Manager, and is performed in person. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 5:30 PM, with a one-hour lunch break at 1:00 PM, or Monday through Thursday during the same hours. Compensation is a guaranteed base rate of $35–$38 per hour, with daily bonuses, and a $2,000 welcome bonus for a five-day work week, prorated for four days.

Requirements

• Ohio Dental Assistant License and graduation from an accredited dental assistant program.
• Completion of approved EFDA procedures validated through the Ohio Dental Board, including placement of amalgam and composite restorations, stainless steel crowns, and space maintainers.
• CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and software.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual ability in Spanish, Somali, Oromo, or Hmong.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists, dental therapists, and hygienists during procedures.
• Sterilize and set up operatories between patients.
• Take and process dental x-rays.
• Accurately document treatment plans and patient notes.
• Apply sealants, fluoride, and other preventive treatments.
• Assist with impressions, temporary crowns, and lab preparation.
• Educate patients on postoperative care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and HIPAA-compliant workspace.
• Contribute as a supportive team member.
