About The Position

Mid America Health is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to work full time, 40 hours per week, at Marion Correctional Institution in Marion, Ohio. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with no late nights or weekends. The position is described as a low-stress alternative to private-practice dentistry and offers the opportunity to serve an underserved population. The role may require travel throughout Ohio once the position transitions to that stage. The assistant performs routine chairside duties for preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic care. Duties also include placing and finishing permanent dental fillings, applying fluoride varnishes and desensitizing agents, providing oral-hygiene instructions, and handling some administrative tasks. Orthodontics and crown-and-bridge work are not included; endodontic work is very limited. Compensation is $35 per hour, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays, a flexible spending account, and a health savings account.

Requirements

Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
Active Ohio Dental Radiographer License.
Active Ohio Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary license.
Willingness to travel throughout Ohio once the position transitions to that stage.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
