Expanded Functions Dental Assistant- Saturdays
About The Position
West 10th Dental is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to provide patient care in a supportive, team-oriented dental practice. The role assists dentists and hygienists with diagnosis and treatment, prepares treatment rooms, and performs expanded dental assisting procedures, including restorations, impressions, temporary and permanent crowns and bridges, sealants, and adjustments to dentures and partials. The position is listed as full-time, with a Saturday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and seven weekly hours. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered. Benefits are available after 60 days of employment.
Requirements
- Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or equivalent.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Successful completion of a background check, including a drug screen, as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clinically excellent dental care through patient education and quality treatment.
- Assist dentists and hygienists with diagnosis by taking X-rays, communicating verbally, and performing other dental tests as directed.
- Prepare treatment rooms by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Sterilize and deliver instruments to the treatment area, position instruments for dentist access, suction, and pass instruments.
- Place and finish permanent restorations; take preliminary impressions; make and polish temporary crowns; remove temporary crowns; and fit permanent crowns and bridges.
- Adjust occlusions and interproximal areas, apply sealants, and adjust partials and dentures.
