About The Position

The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant provides chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists while helping deliver a welcoming, patient-focused experience. The role includes supporting appointments through patient education, charting, operatory preparation and cleanup, X-rays, treatment-plan entry, and equipment and operatory sterilization. The assistant performs procedures as directed by the dentist and hygienist and helps maintain an efficient schedule. Requirements

Advanced Dental Assistant certification, such as EFDA, EDDA, or EFODA.
Radiology certification required for compliance with the State Dental Board.
Excellent time-management and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and dental software.
Excellent communication skills and commitment to partnering with all team members to create a great environment.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dental assistant preferred.
Experience with Dentrix preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists through charting, patient education, and operatory setup and cleanup.
Deliver a superior patient experience throughout each appointment.
Take and process X-rays.
Perform procedures as directed by the dentist and hygienist while maintaining a productive, efficient schedule.
Enter patient treatment plans and maintain files.
Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatories.
Educate patients about the importance of oral health and how to maintain it.
