Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
About The Position
Foundation Dental is hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support dentists and provide compassionate care in a modern dental practice. The role includes helping patients feel comfortable, assisting the dentist during procedures, taking digital radiographs and intra-oral scans as prescribed, and maintaining clean, safe treatment areas. The practice emphasizes patient health over sales, offers a supportive environment without production quotas, and encourages team members to grow in their careers. The practice is located at 309 S Chapel St, Louisville, OH 44641. The listed schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. The salary range is $30–$35 per hour. Benefits availability depends on employment hours; all listed benefits are available to employees working at least 30 hours weekly, with some benefits also available to part-time employees.
Requirements
- Prior dental assisting experience.
- Active EFDA license in good standing.
- Any certification or license required by the state to perform specified duties.
- A resume showing a consistent and stable employment history.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit.
- Support the dentist with various procedures.
- Take digital radiographs and intra-oral scans as prescribed.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection-control requirements.
- Sanitize and prepare operatories for treatments.
- Follow OSHA and other safety policies.
- Educate patients on effective oral hygiene strategies as needed.
- Perform diverse office tasks as needed to support smooth practice operations.
