About The Position

The Exercise Physiologist operates as a clinical and wellness professional responsible for exercise assessment, program development, and supervision of patients and members. This role does not provide independent medical diagnosis or treatment and works collaboratively with physicians and the healthcare team to support patient care plans. The Exercise Physiologist designs and implements individualized exercise programs for patients managing chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. This position assesses patient fitness levels, monitors progress, and promotes recovery and long-term wellness through safe, evidence-based exercise programming in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, Sports Administration, Athletic Training, or related field
  • Experience in exercise programming, wellness, or clinical rehabilitation preferred

Nice To Haves

  • CPR or ACLS certification preferred
  • Knowledge of ACSM and AACVPR guidelines
  • Strong communication and patient education skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct submaximal testing and assessments using ACSM and AACVPR guidelines
  • Develop individualized exercise programs based on assessment results and established clinical protocols
  • Complete evaluations and documentation in a timely manner
  • Perform orientations to exercise programs and equipment, ensuring proper technique and safety
  • Assist in the care of patients in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs as needed
  • Supervise exercise floor activities and maintain a visible presence to ensure safety and engagement
  • Develop, promote, and support wellness programs and community events (e.g., health fairs, run/walk events, blood drives)
  • Organize and support aerobics programming including marketing and participation tracking
  • Assist Coordinator in daily operations and provide coverage in their absence
  • Support front desk operations when needed
  • Coordinate internship programs, including recruitment, orientation, and supervision of interns
  • Collaborate with other departments (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, sports medicine, industrial medicine, and public relations) for education and outreach initiatives
  • Maintain equipment safety and ensure proper maintenance procedures are followed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
