With over 40 outpatient locations, they provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy in various specialties. The Westport Outpatient Rehab Clinic, a flagship location, is connected to the Ayer Neuroscience Spine Wellness center and is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on improving patient health through rehabilitation, pain management, physical medicine, integrative medicine, fitness, nutrition, and behavioral health services. The clinic features private treatment spaces and state-of-the-art gyms, and offers specialty programs in areas such as Balance & Falls, Cancer Rehabilitation, Complex Spine, Concussion, Dry Needling, Gender-Affirming Rehab, Headache Management, Chronic Pain Management, Pelvic Health, Sports Medicine, Thoracic Outlet, and Vestibular Therapy. The Exercise Physiologist implements and supervises physical exercise programs for patients.

Requirements

B.S. in Exercise Physiology / Science or related degree
Basic monitor interpretation skills
Must successfully pass dysrhythmia class within 3 months of hire.

ACSM Clinical Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

Provides patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
Plans and teaches exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen. Monitors patient's response and revises plan accordingly.
Recognizes contraindications and abnormal patient responses to exercise. Responds appropriately to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals.
Provides exercise information for patients, peers and the community which may include public speaking and education classes.
Collaborates with physician regarding the exercise prescription for each patient. Maintains in-depth knowledge of monitoring and arrhythmia identification.
Preparation of report on individual patient to appropriate physician. Appropriately charts progress in Medical Records. Maintains appropriate documentation of patient care.
Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of the departmental equipment. Maintains equipment in optimal functioning condition in accordance with manufactures guidelines. provide staff with educational in-service for proper and safe use of equipment.
