About The Position

The Executive Vice President of Operations (EVP of Operations) is a senior executive leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization’s operational performance, financial health, compliance standards, and service quality. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the EVP of Operations partners closely with executive leadership to ensure organizational goals align with Beacon’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence. Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Translate annual strategic goals into actionable operational initiatives across business functions.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of buildings, programs, and services.
  • Foster a collaborative leadership environment while providing independent, candid, and strategic input to senior leadership.
  • Manage staffing levels and labor hours to achieve budget targets while minimizing overtime expenses.
  • Ensure programs and services support the social, emotional, mental, and physical well-being of individuals served.
  • Coordinate resident move-ins, transfers, and related operational needs as required.
  • Adapt to evolving organizational priorities and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Manage census performance for assigned homes to meet or exceed budgeted revenue targets through daily, weekly, and monthly performance monitoring.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Recruiting, and Training teams to maintain a high-performing workforce and achieve full employment targets.
  • Review, update, communicate, and enforce operational policies and procedures for staff, residents, and family members.
  • Build and maintain relationships with managed care organizations and state agencies to support market growth and service expansion.
  • Maintain proficiency in all organizational IT systems and operational platforms.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and COO, demonstrating ownership and accountability for operational initiatives.
  • Support organic growth initiatives and assist in identifying and executing expansion opportunities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement strategies that drive organizational performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Lead operational strategies that improve efficiency, profitability, and long-term organizational growth.
  • Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to implement risk mitigation strategies and improve the environment of care for individuals served and employees.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing operational leadership team aligned with the annual strategic plan and Beacon’s 5 Diamond Quality Program.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and Value-Centered Performance (VCP) metrics to ensure operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all clinical, operational, state, federal, and company standards.
  • Oversee leadership and staff training initiatives to achieve quality, compliance, and operational goals.
  • Implement effective processes that drive consistent execution of strategic priorities and minimize operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and maintain accurate operational and clinical records.
  • Maintain full compliance with all laws, regulations, and organizational standards governing care delivery and operational services.
  • Develop systems and processes to effectively monitor operational performance, inventories, staff engagement, and service quality.
  • Manage payroll and labor costs through effective recruitment and employee retention, efficient staffing and scheduling practices, and monitoring overtime, absenteeism, turnover, and wage trends.
  • Ensure operational leadership reviews monthly profit and loss statements and develops corrective action plans for variances.
  • Maintain accountability for achieving EBITDA targets through effective management of census, payroll, overtime, and operational expenses.
  • Partner with Finance to support managers in monitoring budgets and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in timekeeping, attendance, and payroll reporting systems.
