About The Position

Westchester Environmental is looking for an applicant to fill the position of Executive Underwriter supporting our Midwest & West Regions. Westchester Environmental writes both contractors and consultants across multiple industries. This underwriter will be charged with directly underwriting, managing, and growing a book consisting mainly of Environmental Contractors/Consultants package, manufacturers products pollution, monoline premises pollution and contractors’ pollution liability accounts. The underwriter will be responsible for aggressively marketing to their assigned brokers to bring in opportunities and will work closely with the respective zonal manager, EVP for Westchester Environmental, as well as various Business Development Managers across the region to position this portfolio within Westchester Environmental’s strategy for growth and profit.

Ability to handle and understand wholesale submission volume
Local and regional broker visitations/travel is expected.
Fundamentals of coverage, terms and conditions
Risk Assessment
Ability to select risk based on exposure and risk analysis.
Ability to analyze claims and quantify losses.

Responsibilities

Soliciting new and renewal submissions from appointed wholesaler brokers.
Ability to handle and understand wholesale submission volume.
Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans.
Quote/Bind coverage.
Documenting the underwriting files to company/division expectations.
Handle files and portfolios within underwriting authority.
Takes ownership of given production goals and utilizes all available department resources to achieve said goals.
Local and regional broker visitations/travel is expected.
Presenting and communicating the Chubb/Westchester products and marketing material.
Delivering upon the established New and Renewal business goals as provided by the Regional Underwriting Manager.
Executing upon the assigned roles per the regional marketing plans and strategies.
Client & broker relations including sales calls & attendant strategies.
Completing target account responsibilities & cross sell strategies.
Achieving all underwriting standards as outlined by the CHUBB Westchester Specialty Environmental Division home office and all applicable Underwriting Guidelines, Authorities, and Position Papers.
