About The Position

Chubb's Natural Resources Practice is seeking an Executive Underwriter to join their Commercial Insurance team. This high-impact role focuses on growing a Property and Casualty book of business including Package, Automobile, Pollution, Workers’ Compensation, Umbrella, and International lines. The Executive Underwriter will manage a book of business valued at approximately $10 million within their assigned territory. Key responsibilities include driving book growth, maintaining strong internal and external relationships, and implementing profitable pricing strategies. The role also involves accountability for the financial performance and growth of the book of business for the branch. The ideal candidate will identify growth opportunities within new and existing production sources, recognize cross-sell potential, conduct agency planning and goal setting, and perform regular broker and insured visits.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ underwriting experience within the Natural Resources industry and/or Commercial Insurance experience with a desire to specialize in the Natural Resources sectors of Power Generation, Petroleum, and Mining
  • Experience with multiple lines of insurance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Marketing skills-Broker and Client
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong sales and marketing skills along with the ability to position accounts and close deals.
  • Demonstrated success in marketing, producer/book management and new business development.
  • High proficiency with the underwriting process and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with underwriting technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, pricing & strategies.
  • Results orientation, entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen, self-motivation and strong ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
