About The Position

The Executive Team Leader GM & Grocery (Assistant Manager General Merchandise and Grocery) role at Target focuses on leading teams to ensure a consistent and positive guest experience. This involves overseeing operations, process, and efficiency within General Merchandise (GM) and Grocery departments. Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales, understanding the impact of departments and team on profitability.
  • Manage Food & Beverage, food services, inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing for all GM areas.
  • Manage a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Lead pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work for efficient guest delivery.
  • Develop strategies and utilize workload planning tools to complete scheduled workload, ensuring guest readiness.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the team to ensure task and workload completion.
  • Manage all GM backroom and sales floor areas, review reporting to identify gaps, and develop resolution plans.
  • Oversee GM Team Leaders' workload planning, including transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all GM areas.
  • Drive fulfillment sales by leading the Fulfillment team to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently, meeting guest promise times.
  • Drive a culture centered in food safety, training, validating, and coaching the team on proper execution of food safety standards and cleaning routines.
  • Lead an efficient operation to fund the sales culture.
  • Oversee Food & Beverage Team Leader’s workload planning, including transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, and promotions.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience and meets store sales goals.
  • Assess the competition, leverage guest insights and feedback to drive the business, and become the destination of choice for guests.
  • Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Ensure product is in stock, fresh, available, food safe, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor with minimal guest disruption.
  • Assess GM and Food & Beverage backroom and sales floor areas, walk Food & Beverage Standards to assess priorities in food, and review GM/Food reporting to identify gaps and develop resolution plans.
  • Plan, lead, and follow up on organizational and operational change.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Develop and coach the team to elevate their skills and expertise.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management; actively develop, coach, and train the team; anticipate staffing needs, talent plan, and recruit for both long and short term.
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; lead the team to work in the same way and hold others accountable.
  • As a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
  • Address store needs, including emergencies and regulatory visits.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
