About The Position

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The Executive Steward is primarily responsible for managing the stewarding team in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas. This includes washing dishes, china glassware, flatware, cutlery, crockery, kitchen vessels, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and detailing equipment. The role ensures the kitchen, dishwashing, and back areas are in an inspection-ready condition in accordance with local authority and Convention Proof guidelines, and performs other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the same or similar role.
  • Must be a team player, well organized, strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of budget management, labor costs, Microsoft Office, internal and external email communications.
  • Must live within commutable distance of Austin, TX.
  • Present oneself in a manner consistent with professional appearance, good personal hygiene and grooming, and respectful conduct to all external and internal customers / contacts at all times
  • Exhibit knowledge of sanitizing stewarding practices, and food handling skills
  • Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.
  • Non-slip shoes are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
  • Always maintains the physical facilities under charge in a sanitary and orderly manner in accordance with good business practices and Health Department requirements.
  • Provides creative input for menu/ event ideas by staying current with industry trends and events at other POP functions.
  • Maintains a balanced budget with guidance from the Executive Chef on inventory, pricing, and staffing levels for all concessions events.
  • Keeping employee/team morale at the highest level
  • Planning large scale food production in accordance with the demands of business, the direction of Executive Chef and Company policies
  • Maintains proper inventory levels of needed paper goods and food items through working with the Executive Chef and Purchasing Manager.
  • Demonstrates good business practices in labor and cost controls, utilization of product and inventory controls to ensure highest quality of product in cost effective manner.
  • Assists Executive Chef with logistical planning and execution of events as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.
