About The Position

The Executive Sales Representative will manage and grow a well-established territory within Xylem's Light Industry Division in the Columbus, OH area, providing cutting-edge water treatment solutions for high-purity and wastewater applications. This role involves working directly with clients to specify and sell tailored water treatment solutions, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance services. The representative will be the primary point of contact throughout the customer lifecycle, ensuring satisfaction, fostering retention, and driving year-over-year business growth. Key responsibilities include maintaining and strengthening customer relationships through on-site visits and engaging clients via multiple communication channels to close deals and provide ongoing support. The role requires responding to inquiries with expert product recommendations and guiding opportunities through the sales pipeline using CRM tools for forecasting and SIOP planning. The ideal candidate will have a commercial or industrial water treatment background, demonstrate urgency, prioritize safety, and collaborate across teams to execute sales strategies and uncover new business opportunities while maintaining high service standards and growing sales volume. This position requires living within the assigned territory and visiting the branch office as needed.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field with at least 10 years experience or equivalent work experience in the water treatment industry
  • Basic knowledge of water treatment systems and methods
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive knowledge of water treatment methods including water softening, carbon filtration, reverse osmosis, UV purification, and deionization
  • Adjacent industry experience could include chemical water treatment for boilers, cooling towers and chillers

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for assigned territory
  • Identify and prioritize key accounts and prospects in territory
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities in territory
  • Plan and manage travel to visit clients and prospects within territory
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company's products and services
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments
  • Effectively communicate product features and benefits to clients
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for product improvements
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and client interactions
  • Submit necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner
  • Manage and track expenses related to sales activities
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions
