About The Position

Gavin de Becker & Associates (GDBA) protects influential and at-risk public figures. Its mission is the safety, privacy, and wellbeing of its clients through the assessment, prediction, and management of violence. Protectors monitor and secure client properties, provide physical protection and logistical support at clients’ homes and during travel, and provide secure transportation as needed. They coordinate security plans, respond to medical emergencies, prepare locations before a client arrives, document suspicious activity, and maintain readiness to meet threats. The role is based in Atlanta. Newly hired Atlanta Protectors earn at least $70,000 in base earnings during their first year; first-year earnings could reach $77,000 depending on relevant experience, Training Academy performance, and promotion opportunities. A 12-day introductory Training Academy takes place in San Antonio, Texas.

Requirements

• Pass a physical readiness test consisting of pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, and an 800-meter run.
• Be able to swim.
• Be drug- and nicotine-free.
• Pass a background check.
• Be able to obtain appropriate state firearm and security licensing.
• Communicate effectively, be physically fit, be willing to learn, tell the truth, and enjoy working in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Military, law enforcement, executive protection, or security experience is meaningful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor property using GDBA Command Center tools and technology.
• Screen visitors and vendors and control access to protected sites.
• Coordinate and execute security plans and respond to medical emergencies.
• Provide physical protection and logistical support at clients’ homes and while they travel.
• Provide secure transportation as needed.
• Survey and prepare locations before a client arrives.
• Prepare detailed documentation of suspicious activity.
• Create and maintain readiness to meet any threat.
