About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Education is looking for an Executive Office Associate – this is an important central role directly supporting our agency leadership, maintaining high degrees of professionalism and confidentiality. This position will interact with a variety of people and provide a high level of customer service, and has an impact on education throughout the State of Nebraska. Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field and five years of experience related to the essential functions of the position.
  • Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.

  • Experience working within the executive office of a business or agency.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the calendars of senior leaders in the Commissioner’s Office and arranges for the representation of the Commissioner’s Office at meetings and events.
  • Assists with daily operations of the office, including scheduling meetings, receiving visitors, answering phones, and directing and answering inquiries.
  • Coordinates travel logistics including transportation, lodging, registration, food, and payments for the Commissioner’s Office and members of the State Board of Education
  • Assists with State Board of Education meeting agenda preparation and logistics.
  • Assists with generating and processing contracts, agreements, and grants for workshops, meetings, speakers, and staff.
  • Coordinates workflow and schedules office operations and staff activities to facilitate management of NDE operations.
  • Processes and maintains databases and spreadsheets to provide information.
  • Creates correspondence, summaries, and other mailings for public information and awareness activities.
  • Performs administrative duties and accounting work including preparing, maintaining, and processing financial records and documents, and accounts receivable and payable in the State of Nebraska accounting system.
