About The Position

The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center is seeking an experienced Executive Meetings Manager to join their team. This position is 100% on-site. The hotel is conveniently located near Miami International Airport and features extensive meeting and event space. The role is an integral part of the sales team, focusing on short-term, smaller groups and meetings, typically up to 50 rooms/peak and 100 guests or less. The position will also oversee corporate sales, develop and implement strategic sales plans, and handle all aspects of the sales process from inquiry to on-site support. A flexible work schedule is required. This role has a guest room and catering sales target goal.

Requirements

  • A minimum of (1) or more years of experience at a full-service hotel, country club, or similar type of venue is required.
  • At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
  • Must be skilled in computer applications, hotel sales systems, Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with DoubleTree by Hilton standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
  • Comply with DoubleTree by Hilton standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Flexibility and long hours sometimes required.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Answer telephone inquiries and qualify clients for meetings and events.
  • Book repeat business by having a track record of long-term client relationships.
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations.
  • Work closely with the banquet department on operations and event execution.
  • Quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of operations.
  • Execute all banquet event orders for groups and meetings.
  • Monitor group room blocks and pick up, generate detailed resumes for operating departments.
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction for all events/groups.
