About The Position

The School of Business at Marian University in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a dynamic and innovative leader for the position of Executive in Residence. This role is part of a diverse community of faculty and staff and will promote the university's Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by teaching a business consulting course. Teaching-focused candidates in accounting, finance, or marketing are encouraged to apply. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, finance or a closely related field or a CPA with professional experience and/or teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence and innovation in student-centered instruction.
  • Experience working with students at varying levels of abilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in curriculum and program development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player who can collaborate with colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to the mission of Marian University.
  • Adheres to Marian University’s policies and procedures.
  • Shows courtesy and respect in interactions with fellow employees, students, subordinates, and supervisors.
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor about Department issues.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Share in the ongoing development and implementation of department and school activities and projects.
  • Engage in service and other professional activities.
  • Participate in the life of the campus and university service, including participation in faculty governance and co-curricular programs.
  • Manage classroom projects and student-led competition teams.
  • Facilitate, mentor and coach students.
  • Help students develop key skills related to communication, teamwork and problem solving.
  • Assist students in developing career plans.
  • Connect students with internship and employment opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
