About The Position

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness and friendly service of the entire Hotel, including all guest rooms, public areas, facilities, storage rooms, and guest and house laundry. This role involves overseeing the housekeeping team, managing schedules, maintaining supplies, and ensuring adherence to cleanliness and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Must be able to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must have a desire to serve all guests.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at the designated time.
  • Provide sufficient notice as directed by supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
  • Stand or remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time).
  • Type on and operate computers and other office machinery or devices, do 10-key operation and data entry, dial a telephone, manually manipulate objects, handles, tools, and/or controls.
  • Bend, stoop, crouch, lift and transport supplies of up to 25 pounds throughout the hotel, and move throughout the hotel and the rooms.
  • Inspect and visually observe details at close range (within a few feet) and from long range.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Housekeeping Team: Complete daily stand-up with the team each day to review objectives and confirm checklists are assigned and prepared for the day. Rectify deficiencies and train team members on cleaning criteria.
  • Schedule Management: Assign room cleaning tasks for housekeepers, confirm rooms are cleaned, inspected, and marked correctly in the PMS, and available for sale.
  • Status Reports: Balance and clear the room status nightly, comparing reports and resolving discrepancies.
  • Storage Rooms: Maintain organization and cleanliness of all storage rooms, mechanical rooms, housekeeping closets, and the main housekeeping laundry room.
  • Maintenance Requests: Monitor work orders and submit them to the Engineering department.
  • Supply Management: Order necessary housekeeping and laundry supplies and amenities on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Inventory: Conduct monthly and quarterly housekeeping inventories.
  • Lost and Found: Maintain and monitor "Lost and Found" procedures and policies.
  • Assign supervisor duties daily and verify completion and quality checks.
  • Chemical Safety: Monitor proper use of and compliance with hazardous chemicals according to OSHA standards.
  • Complete Daily Objectives: Opening the department, assigning and distributing housekeeper boards and keys, inspecting guest rooms, and closing the housekeeping department.
