About The Position

Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is a large global asset management organization with over 40 years of history and a presence in 24 countries. MSIM aims to deliver outstanding long-term investment performance and a comprehensive suite of investment management solutions to a diverse global client base. The Wealth Strategies Group, within MSIM, focuses on advanced strategies for High-Net-Worth (HNW) Investors, particularly within the RIA channel. This group specializes in HNW tax solutions, including Customized SMAs, long-short strategies, exchange funds, derivatives, and charitable solutions. The Wealth Strategy Specialist will represent these products to Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and Family Offices in the southeast region. This role involves close collaboration with Relationship Managers, Regional Rep Counterparts, marketing, and other internal teams to manage client experience for Wealth Strategy Group (WSG) products within their territory, ensuring high levels of service and client satisfaction. The Specialist will act in a consultative capacity with sophisticated advisors to implement advanced strategies and increase Assets Under Management (AUM) from major RIA and Family Office clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of financial services experience, with 5 years of sales experience preferred.
  • Strong technical background and familiarity in advanced investment strategies for HNW clients.
  • FINRA Series 7, 63 or 66 required.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter with proven leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently with measurable results in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in communicating esoteric and complex strategies.
  • Ability to drive results, positively influence, and leverage relationships.
  • Must be able, when requested, to work collaboratively with other EV wholesalers or specialists.
  • Must be able to handle consistently active rotation and frequent travel schedule.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Representation of product distribution at RIAs and Family Offices within the Southeast Region (CO, NM, TX, KS, OK, MO, AR, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, WV, KY & TN).
  • Serve as a Product Subject Matter Expert across customized portfolios, tax management, and specialized strategies, including Parametric Equity and Income SMAs, long-short strategies, Derivatives, EV Exchange Funds, and EV Charitable solutions.
  • Identify client needs and coordinate efforts to service assigned advisors.
  • Provide technical and sales support, partnering with Eaton Vance wholesalers within the territory.
  • Meet with advisors and their largest clients, demonstrating proficiency.
  • Conduct strategy training meetings at branch and regional levels for advisors and regional management of partner firms.
  • Work in conjunction with an Internal Specialist to fulfill the business plan for the territory.
  • Understand and follow the Strategy Specialist guidelines.
