The Executive Director, Technology Success position exists to be responsible for creating and documenting new efficiencies and success strategies across IT.. IT is comprised of IT Cross Functional, Cybersecurity and Compliance, Infrastructure, Disaster Recovery Management, IT Client Services, and Digital Solutions. This position will also be responsible for the Ministry Reporting function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent management experience
  • 10+ years managing employees and teams in a technology environment
  • 5+ years of extensive experience with production data center operations, IT security and help desk management
  • 5+ years of experience implementing, managing and executing IT leading practices such as ITIL
  • Architecture design and deployment experience
  • Systems lifecycle management experience
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to be firm, diplomatic, and sensitive to needs of user community and IT department alike
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills, and consider alternate views expressed by other IT departments
  • Strong knowledge of systems development issues (design, tools, methodologies, project management)
  • High degree of human relation skills due to the need to persuade and influence technology choices and design
  • Considerable management skills to successfully perform the planning, directing, reporting, and administrative responsibilities
  • Considerable experience in setting clear direction and priorities, assisting with sorting through sometimes conflicting data, escalating appropriately, and keeping everyone aware of the resolution
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Solid leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, from staff to Executive levels

Responsibilities

  • Understands the organization’s core IT competencies and the value they bring to business processes and ministry efforts and initiatives. Determine long-term enterprise wide information needs and develops overall strategy for systems and services development and hardware acquisition and integration
  • Is responsible for special projects as directed by the VP
  • Compares and contrasts methodologies across IT searching for best practices to instill where needed
  • Assists VP with oversight of the development of enterprise technology architecture and standards, technology evaluation and IT governance
  • Partners with the VP and business leadership to establish Service Level Objectives/Expectations for all solutions and services provided by IT and ensures that the targeted services levels are consistently met or exceeded
  • Partners with VP to act as a corporate advocate for information security, compliance, and business continuance (including systems and services Disaster Recovery Planning) best practices
  • Ensures effective management and execution of all enterprise and IT initiated projects requiring IT resources and solutions. Assigns resources appropriately, and coordinates delivery to address risks, dependencies, and priorities.
  • Acts as a catalyst for change in defining and implementing the necessary processes, metrics, and best practices needed to ensure excellent operational technical support of ministry goals
  • Utilizes industry best practices and expertise, mentors, develops and guides senior managers in IT toward successful implementation of departmental goals, including successful implementation of industry best practice frameworks, processes, and policies
  • Works with VP to establish and maintain a service and operational structure that enables process effectiveness and efficiency to achieve IT performance goals
  • Works with VP on IT strategic vendor and partner relationships
  • Develops and instills a culture of quality and persistently lead and oversee IT continuous improvement programs
  • Impacts the culture through tactical use of FOCUSed
  • Upholds strict confidence concerning exposure to any form of communication (purposefully or accidentally) during the course of job duties, including, but not limited to, electronic, verbal, printed, sticky notes, etc.
  • Works or responds to requests outside of confines of job description and regular work hours
  • Performs other duties as assigned
