Requirements
- Extensive and diverse executive health management experience in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
- Excellence in systems planning, strategic thinking and branch planning skills.
- Deep understanding of government processes and decision-making.
- Proven success partnering effectively with stakeholders on initiatives in dynamic environments to achieve system-wide results.
- Experience working within the public sector has strengthened political acumen, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships with colleagues or stakeholder groups to identify solutions.
- Leverage strong system thinking and shared problem solving to remain open to innovative solutions and include others in ideation.
- Ability to empower teams and influence innovation.
- Capacity for facilitating change.
Nice To Haves
- An understanding of health system issues and priorities in Alberta and other jurisdictions is an asset.
- A related degree is preferred; a master’s degree is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Creating a forward-looking strategic direction aligned to the division's transformation mandate and strengthening governance to support enhanced system decisions.
- Architecting enduring health system integration and designing and stewarding an integration framework defining system-wide roles, decision flow, and escalation as the system matures.
- Driving health innovation through evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement to enhance outcomes and ensure long-term system sustainability.
- Shaping the future of the system through relationship management with internal and external stakeholder groups, anticipating opportunities, and providing advice that informs Alberta’s strategic positioning.
